About Us
The Jamwelly Foundation (Company Reg:12270582) is currently a not for profit limited company, founded by Joanne Jump, director of Busy Bodies Euxton Ltd, in 2019. Busy Bodies is a well established nursery and out of school club in Lancashire, that became involved in the development of Sunshine Nursery School, Jamwelly, The Gambia in 2017 with the help of the charity Furniture for Education Worldwide (FEW). With just one classroom accommodating up to 70 children, the intention was to fund the build of a much needed second classroom. The partnership between Sunshine and Busy Bodies quickly grew and following a visit to the school in 2019, we made a commitment to continue to support them.
Education for All Education for Africa was founded by the current CEO Cherno Omar Gaye in 2014 (registered in 2017). The charity is run by family members and members of the Jamwelly village, with their initial aim of providing free education for the children of the village. They have strong principles and a firm belief that education is the key to effect change in The Gambia to alleviate poverty and contribute to the economy. With our support they can realise their dreams and build a strong and able community.
